Where?

Samaná Dominican Republic

Jutting out of the DR’s northeastern shore and basking in the ocean, the nature haven that is the Samaná Peninsula is as coveted today as it was in the 16th century. Pirates hid in its lush, palm-filled forests, isolated beaches, and hidden caves, while European and Haitian troops competed over its deep water, protected bay.

Today, Samaná–often abbreviated to refer to the entire peninsula–is well connected by land and air, yet it remains the DR’s secluded, paradisiacal escape of wild beaches, coconut plantations, and rainforests. Its rolling mountains and valleys form the crystalline rivers that feed into the Atlantic, as they cascade toward brilliant white sand beaches stretching hundreds of kilometers all around the peninsula’s rocky coastline. It’s as if the approximately 2,500 humpback whales that visit Samaná Bay every year appreciate this natural splendor as much as visitors do. The giant mammals return every year to this special corner of the DR to mate, birth, and bask in this glorious tropical scenery. Aside from seasonal whale watching boat excursions in Samaná’s scenic bay, more ecotourism adventures are a stone’s throw away: body-boarding and kitesurfing in Las Terrenas; trekking, birding, and caving in Los Haitises National Park; canyoning or horseback riding to reach El Limón waterfall; and boat-hopping to magnificent white sand beaches at the base of 90-meter (300-feet) cliffs, or to offshore Cayo Levantado island. Dominican Tree House Village

The Dominican Tree House Village is like something out of a dream. The Tree House Cabins are spread across a beautiful valley that is safely tucked away in the heart of the tropical Caribbean jungle. The cabins are connected by various rope bridges and jungle paths that are all designed to emphasize and enhance an intimate connection with nature and separation from the modern world. The valley is breezy and virtually mosquito free which allows our guests to be able to comfortably enjoy the open-air design.

Get lost as you explore winding garden paths, take a dip in the pool, and get cozy by the fire. Find your perfect state of Zen as you practice yoga in our yoga studio, lounge in our hammocks and swinging chairs, and breathe in the fresh jungle air. Treat your taste buds to fresh piña coladas at the bar and delicious fresh-cooked meals each night. This little-known tropical jungle hideaway is our Neverland, and has a magical way of making you feel right at home.

Located in the heart of the Samaná Peninsula, the Dominican Tree House Village is at the center of what is considered to be one of the safest and most beautiful places in all of the Dominican Republic.   Samaná is widely recognized as being “the best-kept-secret” of the island, featuring spectacular world-class beaches and lush, mountainous landscapes that have remained relatively quiet and untouched by tourism.

Our local beach is no exception and is a refreshing escape from the crowded beaches you find at typical all-inclusive resorts.  A short bike-ride away, El Valle beach is a secluded and incredibly tranquil beach that you’ll most likely share only with local fisherman and a handful of other Tree House guests.
